The Projekt Lazarus ensemble marked the 400th anniversary of the first printing of one of the most important monuments of the Croatian musical baroque, the collection of motets Sacrae Cantiones (1620) by Ivan Lukačić, with a concert performance in the Dreifaltigkeit church in Bern. With the overwhelming help of the Croatian Embassy in Bern, headed by the H. E. Ambassador, Dr. Andrea Bekić, Projekt Lazarus realized this project of cultural promotion, public diplomacy and international recognition of the Republic of Croatia, which is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Croatia in the world. In addition to the members of the diplomatic corps, the concert was attended by Bernese audience, which besides of selected Lukačić’s motets, also listened songs from the Pauline songbook (1644) and the Cithara octochorda (1701).
The main motto of the programme on which the idea of the HGC is based is: “Let’s listen to Croatian music!”
